Group Getaway at the Forest Cabin
Nothing is quite so life-giving as a weekend away with good friends. Late night bonfires. Hikes through the forest. Zip-ling through the trees. And making meals together in the kitchen while the fireplace is crackling.
We've reserved a few select weekends at our Forest Cabin in Head Waters, VA for self-guided retreats. The Forest Cabin sleeps up to 10 people, which is perfect for a girls getaway or a small Wild + Free group gathering.
The Forest Cabin can be booked at other times, but these special weekends occupy the best dates and include amenities you can't get any other time.
The Amenities
For the all-inclusive price of $999 (plus taxes and fees), you can enjoy a self-guided retreat for up to 10 guests* and enjoy the following amenities:
- Three-day / two night-stay from Friday to Sunday
- Two hours of zip-lining on Saturday
- Bonfire and s'mores on Saturday night
- Cider and donuts waiting at the fire tower
- Ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls for the morning
- Wild + Free goodie bag for each guest
* Any combo works - 10 mamas for $100 per person, two families up to 10 people for $500 per family, or other (8 people for $125 per person, etc.)

The Forest Cabin
Built in the 1800s but expanded into a spacious retreat, the Forest Cabin fills you with warmth and history from the moment you step inside.
This is a place to relax, be in nature, disconnect with the outside world, and connect with those you love. You'll find beds for up to 10, four full baths, and a cozy respite that is larger than it appears from the outside.
The trails will lead you to another place in time, and the mountain views will take your breath away. We can't wait for you to experience it!
Suggested Schedule
Group Getaways are self-guided retreats, and you're responsible for your own meals (or we can connect you with a caterer). But here is a suggested schedule based on the amenities we provide throughout the weekend:

4:00 - Check-in - (gift bags provided by W+F)
6:00 - Dinner together
8:00 - Bonfire - (fire & s'mores provided by W+F)
Saturday
8:00 - Breakfast - (cinnamon rolls provided by W+F)
10:00 - Zip-line experience - (provided by W+F)
12:00 - Lunch together
2:00 - Hike to the Fire Tower - (maple donuts & cider by W+F)
6:00 - Dinner together
8:00 - Bonfire around the Forest Cabin fire pit

8:00 - Breakfast together
9:00 - Final morning hike

Policies at the Farm Village:
Group Getaway guests adhere to the same policies as any other booking of the Forest Cabin through our Lodgify site. Please visit our site for details.
Are meals included?
No, but we hope you'll enjoy making meals together in the Forest Cabin's spacious kitchen. Or we can connect you with a local caterer if you'd like.
What about cancellations and refunds?
Per our booking policy, we cannot refund payments that have already been made or extend credit for any cancelled bookings. We require 50% up front and the remainder of the funds closer to the weekend.
What about inclement weather?
Group Getaways are held rain or shine. We can adjust the time of zip-lining to avoid heavier rain, but unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds.
Can we visit the main lodge?
The main lodge at the Wild + Free Farm Village is not open to the public except during sanctioned events. However, a staff member can meet you there if you'd like to shop in our lodge store for Wild + Free merch or gifts.
Can we save money with fewer people?
The Group Getaways are available for $999 regardless of how many people you bring (up to 10). These special weekends are available to anyone, not just women. Two families, for example, could book one of the weekends.
