April 14-15, 2023 | The Fremont Theater
We're coming to San Luis Obispo, CA for our spring Wild + Free conference at the Fremont Theater on April 14-15, 2022. Join 800 Wild + Free mamas for two days of insight, inspiration, encouragement, and community.
This gathering will feature main-stage keynotes, great music, guest artists, a Wild + Free storefront, access to the charming sights and sounds of the city outside the door, and some big surprises we can't wait to share!
We may not all homeschool the same, but we're in this together.

Aubrey and Jen McGowan are high school sweethearts-turned-married soul mates who fill their home with music, babies, love, and laughter.
They write songs that tell the story of their lives and carry all the musical influences of their sweet Tennessee homeland. When not performing together, Aubrey & Jen can be found wrangling their kids, chickens, and dog at their country home, which is always undergoing a remodeling project.
You can find their EP of original songs wherever music is sold
Jessi Kinstler & Jenni Dowling are members of an indie-alternative-folk band called The Hunts, comprised of seven siblings who were all homeschooled by their talented musician-parents.
Born and raised in the south lands of Chesapeake, Virginia, the siblings grew up in a musical home and fell in love with composing their own music.
The band members include: Josh, Jenni, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin, Jamison, and Jessi. They pour their blood, sweat and tears into every song and strive to write music that moves hearts with beauty, power and joy.

On Fathers and Children:
While we value the vital role of fathers in homeschooling and we love children, this event is for women only (nursing infants are welcome).
On Parking
There is plenty of first-come, first-served, metered street parking in downtown San Luis Obispo, as well as a number of hourly parking garages. You can find more parking information on SLO's official parking website.
On Volunteers:
Wild + Free conferences are run by a small but mighty team of volunteers who work hard to create an incredible experience for the mamas who attend. We're looking for a few servant-hearted, kind and welcoming to join our team. We can't promise you a spot, but to apply click here.
On Matters of Faith:
Some of our presenters are women of faith, others are not. Everyone is welcome, but we realize this event might not be the right fit for those who want an exclusively faith-based event or an exclusively secular event.
On Cancellations and Refunds:
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer them to another woman if you are no longer able to attend. Look for buyers at #wildandfreeconf and transfer your ticket to the purchaser with instructions provided on the ticket - or at this link. Tickets are not transferable to any other event.
On Sponsorships:
Due to space limitations, we have room for one or two premium sponsors for this event. If you're interested, email team@bewilandfree.org.
You can email hello@wildandfree.co with any other questions.
