Henry David Thoreau wrote, “All good things are wild and free.”
This quote is the inspiration for the Wild + Free community because it depicts an emerging group of mothers and homeschoolers who want their children to not only receive a quality education, but also to experience the adventure, freedom, and wonder of childhood.
For as long as humans have lived on this earth, children have been schooled at home. Still, we homeschooling mamas often feel like pioneers forging a new path for the next generation.
It’s not easy, but with a community of women to support and encourage each other, we're going to make it and have incredible stories to share and inspire. Here’s to being a pioneer!

A note about fathers: There are so many different home education groups, but Wild + Free was created to be unique. We are a community of mamas who feel strongly about bringing joy and wonder into our children’s lives. We strive to cultivate a community where mothers feel comfortable and supported. While we value the role that fathers play in homeschooling, our groups and conferences remain specific to mothers only. With our annual family camp in Colorado and the start of the Wild + Free Farm Village, we will begin to host more events geared toward the entire family. We hope you’ll join us there!
