June 10-12, 2022 | Head Waters, VA
For centuries, people groups all over the world have celebrated the summer solstice with bonfires, food, dancing, and festivals. You might think of A Midsummer’s Night Dream, a Shakespearean play in which the characters are beguiled by the fairies of the forest during this enchanted time.
It’s thought to be a magical time, especially for Scandinavian countries, because they experience almost continuous sun this time of year.
Regardless of how you see it, Midsummer is a time to celebrate.
A time to gather. A time to dance. A time to go on an adventure. A time to make flower crowns and take barefoot walks in the dewy grass. A time to stay up late to take in all the light of the sun on the longest day of the year.
We could all use a little magic, don’t you think? Join us for the inaugural Midsummer Family Festival on the grounds of the Wild + Free Farm Village on June 10-12, 2022. It'll be a family camping experience like no other!
Innocence. Adventure. Mischief. Curiosity. Boredom. These are the spirits that wander hot summer nights and court us into the magic of midsummer.
Celebrations fill our days with delight and keep our children engaged with learning. Build a bonfire, make a flower crown, or dance around a maypole. Or simply let the magic of midsummer guide your days.
Say yes to painting al fresco, chasing fireflies, studying the stars, or going on a mushroom hunt. Wonder schooling is officially in session.
You are invited to pitch your tent in one of our designated camping areas on the grounds of the Wild + Free Farm Village. Meals are included from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast. And we'll have our newly-built heated bathhouses ready for your comfort.
Cancellation Policy: Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be deferred to any other event. This event will be held rain or shine.
